Say yes to pop up shops
Pop up shops are not just for the startup retailers. Even Toys R’ Us is starting to invest in pop-up shops. Customers love them, because they are novel, and generate urgency in consumers because they are time limited. They draw non-traditional customers to the mall. They can be a quick fix for vacant space and increase foot traffic by attracting new customers who will hopefully stop in at the other shops along the way. They will also frame the space as a successful spot for more permanent tenants. As well, the temporary pop-up tenant may become long term.
Pop ups are a great solution for tenants who are just starting out, allowing them the opportunity to be in a higher priced market. Pop ups are also ideal for trying out a new product or concept.
