Hickory Hollow Mall in Antioch, Tennessee died when two anchor stores closed. But now, the site houses a practice ice skating rink for the Nashville Predators, a satellite campus for Nashville State Community College, and a library.
An abandoned Walmart in McAllen, Texas, has become the nation’s largest single-story library at 123,000-square-feet. The library won The International Interior Design Association’s 2012 Library Interior Design Award.
